Nutrient Density vs Calorie Density

Calories in, calories out, calorie restriction, calorie surplus, calories, calories, calories. This is all people have been talking about for decades now. But what about the case for nutrient density which is way more important than meaningless calories?

When it comes to the foods we eat, whole plant-based foods give you way more bang for your buck.

They are packed full of all the vital nutrients, fibre and water our bodies need for optimal health and next to no toxic baggage left behind for our bodies to deal with.

Animal products do have high levels of some nutrients but with that comes lots of poisons, toxins, and so much other crap that will accumulate in our bodies which inevitably leads to a wide variety of sicknesses and diseases.

The processed foods we eat are mostly stripped of their nutrients and turned into Franken foods. Our bodies have such a hard time dealing with these foreign concoctions yet being the incredible machines they are, they are still able to function to some degree for a while.

Consumption of processed foods will eventually lead to an unhealthy mind body and soul. This is the number one reason obesity has skyrocketed around the world.

Worldwide, more than 1 billion people are obese - 650 million adults, 340 million adolescents and 39 million children, according to the World Health Organization.

The bonus to eating a whole plant-based diet is you can eat as much as you like without the worry of gaining excess weight. The more you eat the healthier you get. You would be hard-pressed to overeat these foods especially if you eat your fruits and veggies in their purest, most beneficial form which is raw.

If you are not overindulging in bags of salted nuts and just one type of whole grain, you are good to go and stuff your bellies till you feel nice and full. No more food commas or need for a nap after eating.

By eating a wide variety of 30 different whole plant-based foods like leafy green, vegetables, fruits, tubers, legumes, whole grains, seeds and nuts you will be filling your body with everything it needs to build strong incredibly healthy and ageless bodies.
